Candidate Interview Terms
Effective date: August 23, 2026 · Version 1.0
These terms apply between you and Correlia Inc., 630 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06510, USA (“Correlia”, “we”, “us”) when you use the Correlia platform to take part in an interview or selection process run by an employer or recruiting company that uses Correlia (the “Employer”). They cover your use of the platform and of Corra, Correlia’s AI interviewer. How your personal data is handled is explained in the Candidate Privacy Notice (/legal/candidate-privacy-notice). How Corra works is explained in the AI Transparency Statement, “How Corra interviews and evaluates candidates” (/legal/ai-transparency). By ticking the required box and pressing “Start interview” you agree to these terms.
1. Your relationship with the Employer and with Correlia
1.1 The Employer invited you, configured the interview, receives the results and makes all decisions about your application. Correlia provides the technology. Correlia is not the employer, not a recruiter or employment agency, and does not decide whether you are hired. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, agency or contractual relationship between you and Correlia in relation to any job.
1.2 Correlia is not responsible for the Employer’s decisions, communications, job descriptions or hiring practices. Questions about the role, the process, accommodations, an alternative to an AI interview or the outcome should be addressed to the Employer using the details in your invitation.
1.3 Correlia does not promise you any job, interview outcome, feedback or response time from the Employer.
2. Who may use the platform
2.1 You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher), legally able to work in the role’s location, and the person the Employer invited. You may not take an interview on behalf of someone else, and you may not let someone else take an interview on your behalf.
2.2 The invitation link is personal to you. Do not share it. If you believe someone else has used it, tell the Employer and email ntitov@correlia.ai.
3. Recording, AI and your consent
3.1 The interview is recorded (video and audio) from the moment you press “Start interview” until it ends, and is transcribed. Corra is an AI system; Corra’s face and voice are computer-generated and no human is present during the interview. Artificial intelligence is used to conduct the interview, to evaluate your answers against the Employer’s requirements and to produce an integrity report, as described in the AI Transparency Statement. Humans at the Employer make the decisions.
3.2 By ticking the required box and pressing “Start interview” you confirm that you have read the Candidate Privacy Notice and the AI Transparency Statement, you consent to the recording of the interview by Correlia on the Employer’s behalf and to the temporary face check described in the Candidate Privacy Notice, and, where a law requires your consent, you consent to the use of artificial intelligence to analyse your interview as described there. If you do not wish to be recorded or evaluated by AI, do not start the interview; contact the Employer, which can offer an alternative process.
3.3 Using your recording to train Correlia’s own AI models is optional and happens only if you tick the separate optional box. Your choice does not affect your interview, your evaluation or the Employer’s decision, and you can withdraw it at any time as explained in the Candidate Privacy Notice.
3.4 Recording is done by Correlia; do not record the interview yourself. If you need a copy of your recording or transcript, ask the Employer or write to ntitov@correlia.ai.
4. Your commitments during the interview
4.1 Your own work. Answer in your own words and, in coding exercises, write your own code. Do not read answers generated by another person or by an AI tool, do not have someone else prompt you off-camera, and do not use tools, notes or resources that the Employer has not allowed. The Employer sets the rules for what is allowed for its role; when in doubt, ask the Employer before the interview.
4.2 No impersonation or tampering. Do not impersonate anyone, use a virtual camera, avatar, voice changer or filter to alter your appearance or voice, or otherwise interfere with the recording, the device check or the integrity check.
4.3 No manipulation of Corra. Do not attempt to manipulate, mislead or “jailbreak” Corra with instructions, hidden prompts or other techniques intended to change how Corra behaves or evaluates you, and do not probe or test the platform for vulnerabilities. If you find a security issue, report it to ntitov@correlia.ai.
4.4 Respectful conduct. Do not use the platform to submit content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else’s rights, and do not upload malware or harmful code, including in the coding widget.
4.5 Accuracy. Provide accurate information about yourself and your experience.
4.6 Confidentiality of interview materials. The questions, coding exercises, evaluation methods and other materials shown to you are confidential to Correlia or the Employer. Do not copy, record, publish or share them, including on forums, social media, or with other candidates.
4.7 The integrity check looks for observable signs that these commitments may not have been kept (see the AI Transparency Statement). It is a signal for a human reviewer, not a finding, and you are entitled to explain to the Employer anything that it flags.
5. Technical requirements and availability
5.1 You need a reliable internet connection, a device with a working camera and microphone, a supported browser and a quiet, well-lit place. The device check helps you confirm this before you start. Data charges are your responsibility.
5.2 We aim to keep the platform available and reliable but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. If a technical problem interrupts your interview, contact the Employer; whether and how the interview can be resumed or retaken is the Employer’s decision, and Correlia will assist.
5.3 Do not use the platform from a location where doing so is unlawful.
6. Your content and Correlia’s content
6.1 You keep any rights you have in what you say, write or code during the interview (“Your Content”). You grant Correlia and the Employer a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to record, store, transcribe, process, analyse, display and share Your Content for the purposes described in the Candidate Privacy Notice, for as long as it is retained under that notice. If you give the optional training consent, the licence also covers the training purpose described there, until you withdraw it.
6.2 You confirm that Your Content is yours to share and does not infringe anyone else’s rights, including confidentiality obligations to a current or former employer. Do not disclose trade secrets or confidential information of others during the interview.
6.3 The platform, Corra, the avatar, the questions, the evaluation methods, software, designs and all related intellectual property belong to Correlia or its licensors. You may use the platform only to take part in the interview you were invited to.
7. Disclaimers
7.1 The platform and Corra are provided “as is”. Correlia does not warrant that the platform will be error-free or uninterrupted, that transcription or evaluation will be free of mistakes, or that the Employer will use the results in any particular way. Correlia’s terms with Employers require human review and prohibit decisions based solely on AI outputs, but Correlia does not control the Employer.
7.2 Correlia is not responsible for the Employer’s conduct, for the content of job descriptions or questions configured by the Employer, or for decisions about your application.
8. Liability
8.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection or data protection law in your country of residence.
8.2 Subject to 8.1, Correlia is not liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, loss of earnings or loss of data, and Correlia’s total liability to you in connection with the platform and these terms is limited to US$500. You do not pay Correlia for the platform and this limit reflects that.
8.3 These terms do not limit any rights you have against the Employer or any rights you have under the Candidate Privacy Notice or applicable data protection law.
9. Suspension
Correlia may suspend or end your access to an interview if we reasonably believe you have breached Section 2 or 4, if required by law, or to protect the platform or other users. We will tell the Employer, and the Employer decides what happens with your application.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The version shown on the pre-interview screen at the time of your interview applies to that interview, and we keep a record of it.
11. Governing law and disputes
11.1 These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and any dispute with Correlia will be heard by the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except that if you are a consumer resident in a country whose laws give you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts or to the protection of your local mandatory laws, nothing in this section takes those rights away.
11.2 Before starting formal proceedings, please write to ntitov@correlia.ai so that we can try to resolve the issue.
12. General
If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest continues to apply. These terms, the Candidate Privacy Notice and the AI Transparency Statement are the entire agreement between you and Correlia regarding your use of the platform as a candidate. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; Correlia may transfer its rights to a successor that takes over the platform. Notices to Correlia should be sent to ntitov@correlia.ai.
